We will meet you at your riad or hotel in the desert at 5:30 AM (depending on sunrise timing). Depart in the morning heading east into the Sahara on basic 4x4 off-roads across the desert of Erg Chebbi with several photo stops. Pass first through rocky terrain then progressively enter sandier landscapes during an exciting dune drive to a nomad camp used to graze their herds of camels. Visit one of the families who live in hand-woven goat and camel hair tents. Continue deep into the desert, crossing magical seas of orange dunes and contrasting spaces of black shiny volcanic rock. Explore alluvial fans, ridges, dry river basins, and sandy areas, the abandoned village of M'fis and the Khamlia village of black people, descendants of slaves from Sudan and Mali, who founded the famous music of Gnawa.
